古琴

  1. (music) guqin; Chinese seven-stringed zither; qin
古琴古琴  ―  tán gǔqín  ―  to play the guqin

Usage notes

[edit]
  • In the past, the 古琴 was referred to only as (qín), but it now has the prefix 古- (ancient) to distinguish it from other instruments which also use the word (qín). The 古琴 may be referred to as (qín) after the first mention of 古琴.
  • It is sometimes confused with the guzheng (古箏古筝) which is a different stringed instrument.
