Etymology 1

From Proto-Albanian *at(t)-, from Proto-Indo-European *átta. Cognate to Hittite 𒀜𒋫𒀸 (attas), Latin atta, Gothic 𐌰𐍄𐍄𐌰 (atta), Old Church Slavonic отьць (otĭcĭ), Ancient Greek ἄττα (átta), Alemannic German Ätti.[1]
