Etymology[edit]
- "Lantian, Shaanxi"
- Attested as a pre-Qin place name.
- "Lam Tin, Kwun Tong district, Hong Kong"
- Renamed from 鹹田/咸田 (haam4 tin4, “salty field”) in 1970, influenced by the positive connotations of 藍田/蓝田 (e.g. in 藍田生玉/蓝田生玉).
