Possibly from Pali āyuttaka (“representative; steward; trustee”) + paṭa (“cloth; scroll, roll, list, record; etc”), or Sanskrit आयुक्त (āyukta, “agent, deputy; minister; royally appointed officer; etc”) + प्राप्त (prāpta, “chartered; received; valid; etc”).[1]
