Usage notes

As with other past participles, the prefix ġe- is usually omitted when (ġe)boren is a non-initial part of a compound: dēadboren (stillborn), æþelboren (noble-born), ċeorlboren (of modest birth), cyneboren (of royal birth), unboren (unborn), sīþboren (born late), sundorboren (born different), þēowboren (born into slavery). Onġeboren (“inborn”) is an exception.
