Komats

Etymology

Via other European languages, ultimately borrowed from Latin comma, itself a borrowing from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Ancient Greek κόμμα (kómma), from κόπτω (kóptō, I cut). The term was made into a 1st-declension masculine noun with an additional final t, probably following the (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Ancient Greek declensional paradigm (κόμμα (kómma), gen. κόμματος (kómmatos)).
