Maybe from Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀲𑀳𑀺𑀤 (sahida), from Sanskrit सहित (sahita, “with; accompanying”).
Sometimes also thought to be from Sanskrit सम (sama). Compare Braj सौं (sa͠u).
