Glyph origin
Phono-semantic compound (形聲/形声, OC *lu) : semantic 辵 (“walk”) + phonetic 斿 (OC *lu).
Etymology 1
From Sino-Tibetan. Cognate with Tibetan [script needed] (rgyu.ba, “to go, walk, move, wander”), Lepcha yŭ, Rawang yɨ (“to flow”) (Schuessler, 2007).
Pronunciation
