Inherited from Proto-Turkic *ur (“growth, excrescence”); cognate with Azerbaijani ur, Bashkir оро (oro), Kazakh ұра (ūra), Kyrgyz ур (ur), Southern Altai ур (ur), Tatar оры (orı) and Yakut [script needed] (uru).
