  • curprev 11:0411:04, 29 March 2022Geographyinitiative talk contribs 6,532 bytes −3 The concept "Western name" implies that "Kong Qiu" is somehow not a westernization- my friends, "Kong Qiu" (atonal Hanyu Pinyin) is written for English (and other "Western languages") in English, and you just cannot get more "Western" than that. The actual motive (not of particular editors) in using this kind of language in my view is marginalization of non-Hanyu Pinyin terminology in English via the use of the term "Western name" as a political dog whistle for "use Kong Qiu instead". undo
