Gothic

Etymology

Uncertain; has been related to Ancient Greek ฮ˜ (Th, โ€œthetaโ€), ฮจ (Ps, โ€œpsiโ€) and ฮฆ (Ph, โ€œphiโ€). Magnus Snรฆdal (2015; see references) considers the derivation from phi most likely.

Letter

๐Œธ โ€ข (รพ)

  1. The ninth letter of the Gothic alphabet, representing /ฮธ/, with a numerical value of 9.
