  1. (intransitive) to expire; to be no longer valid
    Die Gültigkeit ihres Passes ist ausgelaufen. — Her passport did expire.
    Der Vertrag ist ausgelaufen. — The contract was no longer valid.
  2. (intransitive) to leak; to flow out; to run out; to run dry, to empty
