loks
Latvian
Etymology
From the same stem as the Latvian verb liekt (“to bend, to flex”) (q.v.), but with the vowel changed as in the iterative locīt (“to fold”). Cognates include Lithuanian lañkas (“shaft bow, (barrel) hoop, (road) bend, (shooting) bow, circle”).[1]
