Cognate with Gurani ھەرمانە (harmāna, “work”) and Iranian loanwords Old Armenian հրաման (hraman, “order, command, injunction”), Aramaic הַרְמָן (hrmnʾ, “order”). Cognate also with Sanskrit प्रमाण (pramāṇa, “authority, proof”).
