alkalom
Hungarian
Etymology
From the obsolete alk (“conformity, adaptation, adjustment to something”) + -alom.[1] The original stem is probably related to Hungarian alkot (“to create”) and alku (“deal”), and it may also be related to Hungarian olt (“to vaccinate”), which may derive from Proto-Uralic *alɜ- (“to add/fasten to something, fit”).[2]
