um- +‎ schreiben

  1. to paraphrase (to compose a paraphrase)

Conjugation[edit]

  1. to rewrite

Conjugation[edit]

Usage notes[edit]

  • Do not confuse these two verbs, which are spelt exactly the same. In the first, which is inseparable, the stress is on the main part of the verb (the -schreiben), whereas in the second, the stress is on the separable prefix (the um-).
