Phono-semantic compound (形聲, OC *sŋaːɡs): semantic  ‎(word, speak) + phonetic  ‎(OC *ŋ̥ʰjaːɡs, *ŋ̥ʰjaːɡ) – to accuse verbally, reinforced by 斥 meaning “accuse, blame”.
