All the entries below are な-adjectives. These take -な as a suffix when they are used to modify nouns, and they are inflected quite differently from い-adjectives. Their inflection more closely resembles that of a noun, so な-adjectives are often referred to as adjectival nouns.

In Japanese, な-adjectives are known interchangeably as な-形容詞 (na-keiyōshi, な-adjectives) and 形容動詞 (keiyō dōshi, adjectival verbs).
