Etymology

From Proto-Sino-Tibetan *mow (to work; to move) (STEDT). Cognate with (OC *mus, “to strive”), Garo mo (to move), Jingpho mu ⪤ ə mu (work; labor), Burmese မူ (mu, to pursue some course of action; to act).
