Etymology

From Sanskrit मन्त्री (mantrī, adviser; counsellor; consultant; secretary, literally one with mantra; one reciting mantra; one versed in mantra); perhaps via Lua error in Module:parameters at line 290: Parameter 2 should be a valid language, etymology language or family code; the value "mkh-okm" is not valid. See WT:LOL, WT:LOL/E and WT:LOF.. Cognate with Modern Khmer មន្ត្រី (mŭəntrəy). Compare Pali mantī.
