Etymology[edit]

Exopassive of (OC *qʰljus, “to hunt”), literally "what is hunted" (Schuessler, 2007). Speculatively, (OC *qʰljus) can be compared with Tibetan འཆོར་བ ('chor ba, to hunt) (ibid.).
