- (IPA) a voiced labiodental approximant.
- (superscript ⟨ᶹ⟩) [ʋ]-coloring, such as a rhotacized vowel ⟨Vᶹ⟩ in some dialects of English, or a weak, fleeting or epenthetic [ʋ].
- (VoQS, superscript ⟨ᶹ⟩) labio-dentalized (a type of [ʋ]-coloring).
- (IPA, obsolete) a voiced bilabial fricative; superseded by β
- The voiceless partner of ⟨ʋ⟩ was ⟨ꜰ⟩. Both replaced in 1932.
