Etymology 2

Jerry Norman reconstructs Common Min *tɔi5 based on the coastal Min forms; it is unclear how the Min Bei forms relate to the coastal Min forms. Possibly from (OC *doːns, “section; segment”); compare (OC *toːnʔ, “short”) > Xiamen Lua error in Module:parameters at line 290: Parameter 1 should be a valid language, etymology language or family code; the value "nan-hok" is not valid. See WT:LOL, WT:LOL/E and WT:LOF. (Coblin, n.d.).
